La production industrielle d\u2019or du Mali a connu une chute importante en 2024, enregistrant une baisse de 23 %. Selon les chiffres communiqu\u00e9s par le minist\u00e8re des Mines, elle est ainsi pass\u00e9e de 66,5 tonnes en 2023 \u00e0 51 tonnes l\u2019an dernier. C\u2019est la premi\u00e8re fois en plus de trois ans que la production tombe en dessous de 60 tonnes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette contre-performance serait officiellement li\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9puisement progressif des gisements qui a r\u00e9duit les rendements de certaines mines ; des tensions entre l\u2019\u00c9tat et des multinationales comme Barrick Gold et Resolute Mining ; l\u2019adoption en 2023 d\u2019un nouveau Code minier renfor\u00e7ant les taxes et la participation de l\u2019\u00c9tat entra\u00eenant un bras de fer avec les compagnies. Barrick Gold a ainsi suspendu ses activit\u00e9s \u00e0 Loulo Gounkoto apr\u00e8s la saisie de ses r\u00e9serves d\u2019or et l\u2019arrestation de plusieurs employ\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette baisse pourrait modifier le classement du Mali parmi les leaders africains de l\u2019or, laissant l\u2019opportunit\u00e9 au Ghana et \u00e0 d\u2019autres pays de prendre l\u2019avantage. Des experts conseillent aujourd\u2019hui \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9tat de trouver \u00abun \u00e9quilibre entre taxation et attractivit\u00e9<\/em>\u00bb afin d\u2019\u00e9viter de \u00abfragiliser davantage<\/em>\u00bb le secteur aurif\u00e8re d\u00e9j\u00e0 sous forte pression !<\/p>\n\n\n\n
